MIRWAIZ STILL UNDER ARREST
Srinagar, Oct 6 (Only Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of its chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq.
“By placing Mirwaiz under continuous house arrest, the government has put curbs on his religious and political activities,” said a spokesman of the Committee in a statement today.
The spokesman said Mirwaiz was scheduled to preside over an important meeting of AAC office-bearers and members at Mirwaiz Manzil here but the government placed him under house arrest since early in the morning.
“However, the meeting was held and members expressed serious concern over the continued house arrest of Mirwaiz,” he said.
